The lesson plans are approved by the Center for the Improvement of Early Reading Achievement and have been proven effective, along with research by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

One on one tutoring, group tutoring

The Clubs will work with providing an individualized strategy for those youth who are disabled to provide service.

The Clubs currently do not have a strategy in place for limited English proficiency.


Qualifications of the service provider(s)/instructor(s):

Certified teacher on staff along with Syracuse University Literacy Corps Volunteers who are trained in the curriculum.


Reports to parents, teachers, and LEA (Content, frequency, method of delivery):

Quarterly status reports on youth will be available including grades, proficiency assessments, and surveys of parents, teachers and youth.


Will transportation to the service location be provided at no charge if requested? (Note: LEAs are not required to provide or pay for transportation)

Yes, youth can be bused from the school to the Club at no cost to the parent. Transportation from the Club to the home is not provided.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Syracuse have been providing quality educational and after school programming for more than 113 in the Syracuse area.
