As indicated by research, EnCompass relies on frequent, structured, multiple sessions for the development of language skills for ELLs, which incorporate the intensive use of oral language through dialogue, conversation, story telling and reading aloud. Emphasis will be placed upon developing phonemic awareness and over time, increasingly sophisticated vocabulary knowledge. EnCompass will provide explicit and intensive instruction targeted to develop basic mathematics concepts and skills, and will provide language support to develop word problem-solving.
