Description of methods and strategies for serving eligible students with disabilities:

Our online program accommodates most special needs situations. Hearing impaired children have the benefit of the visual tools that can be used to write and type questions, problems, equations, and explanations. Children with physical disabilities generally have tools already available such as special attachments to their computer to allow them access to the program. Children with speech disabilities are not required to use verbal skills to utilize the educational programs through LeapTutor.

Description of methods and strategies for serving eligible students with limited English proficiency:

Bi-lingual staff will be recruited to meet the needs of any students where English is a second language. We understand that it is necessary to accommodate any and all needs of the student’s we serve and their families. We recognize that children learn best when offered explanations of difficult concepts in their native language. We also recognize that for a child to be successful it is urgent that their family understands what they are learning and where they are struggling so they can assist the child in the learning process. Often a child with parents that are not proficient in the English language struggle, because the parents don’t understand what they are being told by the teachers. We strive to accommodate the entire family by offering clear and concise plans and outcomes that are targeted based upon the expectations of the LEA, the teacher, and the parents.

Qualifications of the service provider(s)/instructor(s):

Our tutors are school certified teachers or else have a minimum of a Bachelor/Masters in their respective field.

Reports to parents, teachers, and LEA (Content, frequency, method of delivery):

We provide parents a Daily Report  as soon as the class session with the student has been completed. Daily Reports are done after each and every class. The report consists of the content covered in the class as well as any suggestions for improvement or notes of areas of improvement which may be made.  We also will adhere to all New York State Department of Educations standard reporting formats.  The parents, teachers, and LEA's can log in to our secure online application: Student Academic Management system (SAM)  and have access to Daily Reports, Quiz grades and other academic details of a particular student.  We also provide hard copies of the reports upon request.

Will transportation to the service location be provided at no charge if requested? (Note: LEAs are not required to provide or pay for transportation)

Since we are an online company there is no need for transportation to a site. The service can be provided within the student’s home.
