All eligible students with disabilities specific achievement goals, measurement and timetable methods and strategies will be consistent with the student’s individualized education program (IEP).

Description of methods and strategies for serving eligible students with limited English proficiency:

Employed instructors who specialize in teaching English as a second language (ESL).  Also, connecting with The Refugee Tutoring Project to guarantee effective services to help these students reach timetable academic goals.

The Refugee Tutoring Project works with the schools and after-school programs to strengthen and create quality supplemental educational programs for English as a second language (ESL), students.

Qualifications of the service provider(s)/instructor(s):

M.A., M.S., M.Eds., New York State permanent Teacher Certifications in Elementary Education and Special Education,  38 years combined experience.

Reports to parents, teachers, and LEA (Content, frequency, method of delivery):

A confidential file will be set up for each student and will include all pre and post test which will demonstrate and track improvements being made.

We will measure the program through the collection of report cards and tutoring log sheets.  Between report cards we will attempt to complete progress reports in conjunction with the LEA.  We will have conversations with students’ teachers at least once every two (2) weeks to discuss the students’ progress and challenges.  A progress report will be developed and we will ask the teachers to complete these reports for us on a monthly basis to ensure we are able to meet the academic needs of student in our tutorial program.  Personal communication with parents of student progress/ reports on a monthly basis.

All students will be required to sign in and out daily utilizing our member tracking system.  Lesson plans will be filled out for each program and kept in a secure file in Administration office.

Will transportation to the service location be provided at no charge if requested? (Note: LEAs are not required to provide or pay for transportation)

The Buffalo/Rochester Public Schools provide transportation to the centers directly after school and the parents are responsible for picking up members from centers.
