Audit of grade level improvements of 273 students.

Study Island lessons and tests for grades 3-8. Instructional programs are custom-made to reflect the individual needs of each student after initial evaluation tests and interaction with the tutor. After the first session a report and curriculum plan is submitted to parents for feedback and approval.

September 1-August 31 during the week and weekends. Afternoons and early evening Monday-Friday. All day and early evening on weekends.

Tutors trained in Special Education serve students with disabilities at home, school, and at libraries. We are a New York City Board of Education approved provider of Special Education.

Only tutors who are bilingual or ESL trained serve these students.

Qualifications of the service provider(s)/instructor(s):

New York State certified teachers and experienced tutors only. All tutors have a minimum education requirement of a four-year degree.

Reports to parents, teachers, and LEA (Content, frequency, method of delivery):

Parents, teachers, and the LEA receive an initial evaluation and curriculum plan after the first session and monthly reports thereafter. Reports include the results of assessment tests geared to New York State standards.

Will transportation to the service location be provided at no charge if requested? (Note: LEAs are not required to provide or pay for transportation)

No. However, we serve students in their school or at home in addition to our facility. Our offices are located near E and F trains.

Testimonials and references as to the effectiveness of our tutoring services are available upon request. In two years of serving over 700 students, we have received multiple, unsolicited comments from grateful parents on how our services increased their children’s grades and academic skills. We have ongoing relationships with many schools that regularly request our services.
