Tutoring sessions will be provided up to six days a week, Monday through Saturday and during the school breaks up to three hours per session.  A supplementary enrichment program for targeted students during the summer will provide year round acess to academic support.

1-3 hours per day


Duration of the available service period (e.g. September 1 – June 30; September 1 – August 31; weekends only; summer school only; specific number of weeks or hours, other, etc;):

July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012;  The structure of this program is a year long wrap around program which begins as a six wee summer program, that will be extendend to an afterschool program throughout the academic school year.


Type of instruction:

Individual and small learning groups that is comprised of a 1:8 teacher/student ratio.


Description of methods and strategies for serving eligible students with disabilities:

Friendship For Tots, Inc.  will employ staff certified in Special Education to serve students according to their Individual Edcational Plan (IEP).


Description of methods and strategies for serving eligible students with limited English proficiency:

Students with limited nglish proficiency will be assessed and assigned language approriate tutors proficient in the student's primary language.


Qualifications of the service provider(s)/instructor(s):

Teaching and instruction will be provided by NYS certified and non-certified teacher, in the primary areas of English, Math, reading and Special  Education for students with special needs.


Reports to parents, teachers, and LEA (Content, frequency, method of delivery):

Progress reports will be discussed and delivered to parents on a montly basis.  School official will receive notification of progress/gains in alignment with academic marking periods.


Will transportation to the service location be provided at no charge if requested? (Note: LEAs are not required to provide or pay for transportation)

Transportation is contingent upon staff and vehicle availability.
