Additional relevant information: |
Wonder-Space Mobile provides three different modalities for students to receive math instructional content (1) Academic camp sessions (2) One-on-One sessions with a live tutor and (3) Self-paced independent learning via a mobile computing device. All students receive a mobile computing device as a learning tool to help them access mathematics content. During the 2009 - 2010 school years more than half of
the 1,800 students in our programs completed 5 or more problem
sets that are included in the program. More than 70% also
completed our entire coursework, demonstrating that the students
were engaged in the content of our curriculum. Of the 70%
that completed our program, students reported an average
of a 3 level increase in motivation on a scale of 1-5 as
well as improving their desire to learn math from an average
score of “2” on a 1-5 Likert scale to an average of “5”.
In addition to these qualitative methods of improvement (motivation
and desire to learn math) our system also showed significant
quantitative improvement in student math skills. Of the
students that completed the program 60% showed at least a
10% increase between their preprogram assessment and their
post assessment with over 25% showing a 25% improvement from
the pre to post assessments |
