Beginning with students entering grade 9 in 2005, students who have a 65 course average but whose highest score on the course's Regents examination is below but within 3 points of 65 score may appeal to graduate with a local or Regents diploma using this lower score. (679 KB) - July 2005 Use of Superintendents' Conference Days - The Regents continued their discussion in July of a proposed amendment to section 175.5 of the Commissioner's Regulations that would permit districts to use up to two of four superintendents' conference days for training and rating of the new grades 3-8 tests. Since the Regents June discussion, the proposed amendment has been revised to include a sunset provision in two years. The Regents asked staff to inform the field of their intent to approve the proposed amendment in September.
