APPALACHIAN REGIONAL COMMISSION/OAK RIDGE NATIONAL LABORATORY SUMMER OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS
For the past 14 years the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), in collaboration with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, has sponsored a two-week residential hands-on learning institute focusing on math, science, and technology for high school students and teachers from New York State’s Appalachian Region (Allegany, Broome Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, Schoharie, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga and Tompkins counties). This year’s institute for high school students and teachers will be held from July 7 to 20, 2012. Applications are due by February 24, 2012.

Also, again this summer, the ARC will also offer a summer academy for middle school students. The 2012 Middle School Summer Science Academy will be held from July 15 to 20, 2012. Applications are due by February 24, 2012.
