MODULE CONTEXT

The teacher will guide instruction through the PowerPoint presentation entitled Champlain, Hudson, and Fulton: A History of New York. Students will then use this presentation as the content background for creating their own PowerPoint review game based on the popular Jeopardy game show format. Users with intermediate to advanced skills in PowerPoint can easily create a template to use in all content areas for quizzes and subject reviews. Although this learning experience is focused on student creation of PowerPoint Jeopardy-style review games, it is based on the specific historical content and reading activities of a teacher-created presentation. Such review games can provide an engaging and fun approach to reviewing the historical background and themes of the Champlain-Hudson-Fulton commemorations. Both the instructional PowerPoint and a sample review game PowerPoint are included in this learning experience.
