Note: The information contained in the report below contains substantial differences in what was approved by the Board of Regents on January 11, 2005. The "approved" math standard 3 is available on the Mathematics Standards Committee website.
11/4/04 - Report of the Mathematics Standards Committee:
Today, at the monthly Board of Regents meeting, the Board authorized the release of the Mathematics Standards Committee report that recommends changes to the learning standards in mathematics. The Mathematics Standards Committee has proposed replacing the existing New York State Mathematics, Science and Technology Standard 3 and its seven key ideas with New York State Mathematics Standard 3, Content Strands, Process Strands, and Performance Indicators. The Regents asked for public comment on this report. See the press release and full report below:
