Approved Coaching Courses Information

The State Education Department has compiled a list of approved providers of the courses necessary to complete the coaching requirements in Commissioner’s Regulation 135.4. Both lists are alphabetized by location. Please contact the individual listed to inquire about courses offered, dates, times, and cost of the course.

The Coaching Course List contains approved providers for one or more of the following required courses and as of 4/29/09 there are 7 approved online courses are also available at http://www.p12.nysed.gov/ciai/pe/pe_online_coaching_courses.htm:    

• Philosophy, Principles, and Organization of Athletics in Education

• Health Sciences Applied to Coaching

• Theory and Techniques of Coaching
   

The First Aid and CPR list (, 652KB) contains approved providers for the First Aid and CPR requirement.
