Translations of New York State Examinations and Related Materials

The New York State Education Department (NYSED) is seeking proposals for a vendor to develop translations of New York State examinations and related materials, including examination reference tables, parent reports on individual student test performance, and annual school report cards. Materials will be translated into Chinese (Traditional), Haitian-Creole, Korean, Russian, and Spanish. (Some materials will require translations into only some of these languages.) Eligible applicants include any company or organization with at least three years of demonstrated experience providing timely, error-proof translations of secure standardized examinations and related materials, including the development of translated text and graphics for illustrations.

Subcontracting is limited to 30% of the annual contract budget. NYSED reserves the right to approve all subcontractors. Subcontracting is defined as non-employee, direct, personal services and related incidental expenses, including travel. Bidders are required to comply with NYSED’s Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (M/WBE) participation goals for this RFP through one of three methods. NYSED will award one (1) contract with an initial term of three (3) years from September 1, 2013 through August 30, 2016 with the option to extend for two (2) additional one (1) year periods.
