IFB #19-003: Questions and Answers
Transportation: Unkechaug Nation to and from Center Moriches Union Free Schools

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
  1. IFB page 15, second to last paragraph states– ‘Bid prices for all services should be provided for a daily base price of four hours run time and for an additional quarter-hour increment over the base price’. Should the pricing provided on attachment A (cost proposal) be the price per day; or the price per school year?
Same question regarding summer months, should pricing be the price per day, or the price per summer?
  2. Bid prices for all services will be provided for a daily base price of four hours run time and for an additional quarter-hour increment over the base price per day during the school year and summer months. The daily price will be automatically multiplied by the number of school days (180 days for the main school year, and 30 days for the summer) and the number of buses. Yearly totals are automatically calculated on the 2nd tab of the cost proposal.

  3. Regarding the wheelchair bus, what is the quantity of wheelchairs that the bus must accommodate?

The wheelchair bus must accommodate for at least one wheelchair.

Questions re: Submission Documents

  1. Page 22, says “Small bus is used for after school bus runs.
Page 23: lists three late buses as follows:
‘Late Bus 1 (small bus) may have up to 32 students’.
‘Late Bus 2 (small bus) may have up to 42 students’.
‘Late Bus 3 (small bus) may have up to 32 students’.

Attachment A (cost proposal) lists Late Bus as (17-30P).
In the case of each late bus, the maximum number of students exceeds the capacity of a small bus.

It seems that the late buses should be changed to 55-66P large buses in order to accommodate the number of students that might possibly use the late buses.

The Native American Education Office has been informed through the Unkechaug Nation School Liaison of only needing a 17-30 passenger Late Bus, with confirmation the vendor will provide a 17-30 passenger bus. The maximum number of students requiring a late bus is not expected to exceed this size.
