Purpose of Funding |
The purpose of this grant is to provide progressive integration of instructional technology in classrooms and school libraries, and to provide sustained professional development to increase the skills of teachers and school librarians in the use of instructional technology in order to meet the goals of New York State Board of Regents’ Reform Agenda. These goals are to ensure that all New York State students graduate from high school ready for college and careers. These goals will help students attain higher levels of performance in the New York State Learning Standards (including Common Core http://www.p12.nysed.gov/ciai/common_core_standards/). |

| Eligible Applicants | Public school districts and BOCES, or consortiums thereof. Applicants must also include at least one PLA/SURR school building in the application to be considered for funding. Applicants must give nonpublic schools of all denominationswithin their boundaries the opportunity to participate. |
Regional Distribution of Funding |
Proposals will be separated into three categories; New York City, the Big Four (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, and Yonkers) school districts, and those from all other public school districts in the Rest of State (ROS) and BOCES and consortia thereof. $3,285,000 will be allocated annually, with $1,785,000 set aside for New York City schools, $750,000 for the Big Four, and $750,000 for the schools in the Rest of the State. The maximum grant award per project per year is $50,000. |
