Collection of Basic Educational Data System (BEDS)

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICTS, PUBLIC SCHOOLS, CHARTER SCHOOLS, NONPUBLIC SCHOOLS AND BOCES:
For Public Schools/Districts, the due date for completing the BEDS On-Line has been extended to Friday, November 30th. Please note that the BEDS IMF data should be taken as of BEDS Day, October 3rd.

Due to Hurricane Sandy, nonpublic schools in the following counties have an extension to November 30th to complete their BEDS On-Line: Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland and Westchester. New York City nonpublic schools have the same extension.

Due to Hurricane Sandy, public school districts in the following counties have an extension for submission of PMF BEDS Forms (Bubble Forms) to November 30th: Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland and Westchester. Charter Schools located in the same districts as well as NYC also have an extensio0n for PMF until November 30th.

Fall 2012

BEDS Day is Wednesday, October 3, 2012. If your school is closed or in some other manner observing a religious holiday on October 3, then you may consider the next day that your school is in session and not observing a religious holiday as appropriate for completion of the BEDS survey. The due date for submission of all BEDS survey materials remains Friday, October 26, 2012.

The BEDS Online for Fall 2012 will be available for data entry on Monday, October 3rd.

go to the Department's homepage: http://www.nysed.gov/
click on the "Business Portal" at top of the center in the gray bar
click on the "Log On" link at the upper right, in the red bar
click the Security Alert "OK" if necessary to get to the Log On screen
enter username and password, all lower case
click on the "BEDS-IMF Application" under your welcome and name
click on the line for any school you want to view or enter data for
make sure you "SAVE QUESTION" for any item(s) for which you have entered or changed data
