Since 2005-06 the percentage of minority group public school students has increased throughout the State. In 2005-06, 46.8 percent of students enrolled were black, Hispanic or other minorities; that percentage increased to 47.8 percent in 2007-08. For the "Big Five" cities, the percentage of black, Hispanic or other minority students increased from 85.0 percent in 2005-06 to 85.3 percent in 2007-08.
