Distribution of High School Graduates and College Going Rate - New York State - 2010
Introduction
The following tables present data concerning the distribution of 2009-2010
high school graduates of New York State’s public and nonpublic schools.
The data were secured through the Education Department’s Student Information
Repository System (SIRS) and Nonpublic School Graduation Report and reflect
the status of graduates, as reported by school principals, at the completion
of the school year.
Table 1 presents trends in the college-going rate of high school
graduates from 1990 through 2010. Table 2 shows a 15-year trend of the college-going
rate, within and outside New York State for public and nonpublic schools.
Tables 3, 4 and 5 show, respectively, the distribution of 2009-2010
high school graduates of public schools (including Charter schools), nonpublic
schools and public/nonpublic schools combined. These tables are arranged
by county within geographic region.
Table 6 displays the distribution of 2009-2010 public and nonpublic
high school graduates by racial/ethnic group.
