Since 2006-07 the percentage of minority group public school students has increased throughout the State.  In 2006-07, 47.3 percent of students enrolled were black, Hispanic or other minorities; that percentage increased to 48.3 percent in 2008-09.  For the "Big Five" cities, the percentage of black, Hispanic or other minority students increased from 85.2 percent in 2006-07 to 85.1 percent in 2008-09.
