Webinar for Nonpublic/Private Schools

Q & A Webinar on LEA Requirement to Recalculate Equitable Services Portion of ESEA Title IIA to Nonpublic/Private Schools Within District Boundaries

Tuesday, November 22, 2011
1:30PM - 2:30PM

Purpose: LEAs are now required to recalculate Title IIA allocations to provide for the equitable participation of non-public/private school teachers dating back to FY 2007-2008. Under “ESEA/NCLB Title II, Part A: Preparing, Training, and Recruiting High Quality Teachers and Principals,” funds are allocated to districts to supplement the district ability to support high quality professional development that improves teacher quality. In mid-August 2011, the New York State Education Department (NYSED) was advised by the United States Department of Education (USED) that the formula NYSED used to calculate prior advisory amounts was incorrect and did not reflect the requirements of Section 9501(b)(3) of the ESEA. This webinar is intended to gain feedback from Non-Public/Private Schools in NYS and Non-Public/Private Advocacy groups working with NYS schools prior to the publication of official instructions for recalculating.

Audience: All Nonpublic/Private Schools and Nonpublic/Private Advocacy Groups in NYS: Principals, Headmasters, Budget Directors, Directors of Curriculum and Instruction

Discussion Opportunity Date & Time: Webinar, Tuesday, November 22, 2011, from 1:30PM - 2:30PM
