Welcome to the Office of Curriculum, Instruction and Field Services (OCIFS), one of seven offices within the P-12 Division of the State Education Department that is under the Direction of the Senior Deputy Commissioner. OCIFS was created to coordinate many of the services that the Department provides to our BOCES and districts as the Department transitions from a compliance agency to a service agency.
OCIFS provides leadership and oversight for the development, support and implementation of New York State Learning Standards and to ensure effective teaching and learning for early education through secondary education in New York State. The program offices within OCIFS are here to help as we seek to increase the Department’s partnership with the field of educators in NYS in providing solid learning opportunities for our children through implementation of the Regents Reform agenda.
