Starting a Charter School
Phase II: Prospectus
Applicants must email a Prospectus in PDF format by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2011, and mail a hard copy with a postmark of Monday, January 31, 2011.
The Prospectus requires applicants to address questions that directly align to the requirements and priorities stated in the Act. Beyond making assurances, applicants must demonstrate educational alignment and operational compliance to the key requirements and educational priorities of the Act. The due date for Prospectus submission is Monday, January 31, 2011. Guidance and the form for completing the Prospectus are contained within the 2011 RFP/Application Kit.
Some applicants may not qualify to complete all phases of the process. Applicants that demonstrate all of the requirements and priorities will be notified that they may continue beyond the Prospectus stage of the application. NYSED will notify the applicant by Monday, February 28, 2011 if the Prospectus is approved.
