The primary purpose of this Guide and Checklist is to provide guidance to both New York State Education Department (Department) Charter School Office staff and charter school leadership in order to ensure the orderly closure of a Regents-authorized charter school after a school closure has been determined by the Board of Regents, as required by the school’s charter agreement.
