Mission Statement

The mission of the New York State Education Department Charter School Office is to create and sustain excellent educational options for New York State families on behalf of the Board of Regents through high quality charter school authorizing, fair and transparent oversight of all charter schools, and the dissemination of innovative school designs and practices.

• 5/24/12 - 2012 Request for Proposals (RFP) to Establish Charter Schools

  Authorized by the Board of Regents:  Round 2 Letter of Intent submissions are being accepted now through 5:00 p.m. on June 25 

• 5/23/12 - Charter School Applications - General Information and Updated Submission Protocol: This session will provide an overview of the 2012 Request for Proposal (Round 2) process.  Updated information about the submission process for the Letter or Intent and Full Application will be presented.  To register click here.
