Problems reported by some RIC's
Districts serviced by the Western NY, Finger Lakes, Monroe and Greater Souther Tier Regional Information Centers will be receiving information from their RIC regarding an issue related to preschool provider information displayed in the VR 6, 7 and on the list of included preschool student records for October 7, 2009 verification reports. Please contact your RIC if you have questions regarding incorrect preschool providers appearing in your VR reports.

The SIRS Refresh has Partially Completed
The SIRS refresh for the 2007-08, 2008-09 and 2009-10 (VR 1-8) verification reports have completed and the verification reports have been refreshed. VR 9 is expected to be complete by 11:00 am. Also note that the issue regarding Kindergarten records has been resolved.

The Verification Report #12 for 2008-09 has been Updated
The verification report #12 has been modified and had new logic implemented in the PD Data System. We have updated the template located in SEDCAR's website to show the new revisions.

The Data Collection Requirements Memo's Have Been Posted
The 2009-10 Special Education data collection requirements memo's that went to all districts have been posted. There were seven seperate communications sent and all are posted with the most up to date revisions and updates.

The 2009-2010 Data Reporting Requirements page has been posted on the SEDCAR website. There are some forms still under review and they will be posted as soon as possible. The memo's that recently were sent this past Wednesday will also be posted under the communications section of the page.

Reminder for 2008-09 VR 11-15
After 7/31/09, school districts may continue to submit special education data (COSF Assessments, Special Education Events and end-of-year Special Education Snapshot) to their Regional Information Center (RIC) or large city. School districts will see updated special education data added to their VR11, VR12, VR13, VR14 and VR15 reports every Wednesday for all students existing in the Level 2 warehouse on 8/4/09. The last migration from the RIC or large city of special education data for these reports is on October 30, 2009 and the VR11-VR15 reports must be certified by November 4, 2009. Please check with your RIC to know their last date for accepting your district's data for these reports. At this time no additional demographic, enrollment or program service records may be submitted nor revised in the L2 data warehouse.

The 2008-09 End of Year Reports
The 2008-09 end of year verification reports are now in the PD System. Please be aware that State NYSSIS ID's, enrollment and demographic, disability and LEP program service records MUST be submitted to the repository by July 31, 2009. Please work with your Regional Information Center (RIC) to ensure that the RIC has sufficient time to submit your data. School districts will have the opportunity to see the potential list of students for each of the VR 11-15 reports. After July 31, 2009, the repository will be frozen until accountability calculations are completed.
