The New York State Education Department, P-12: Office of Special Education is pleased to announce the fifth strand in a series of free webinars to be offered by the New York State Response to Intervention Technical Assistance Center (NYS RtI-TAC) on topics related to the development and implementation of RtI frameworks in schools across the State. These webinars are being offered as part of the new RtI Personnel Development Project. Additional webinars will be presented throughout 2014. All webinars will be archived on the NYS RtI-TAC website (http://www.nysrti.org/ external link icon) for future review.

Attached is further information related to the webinars including a description of the overall series, intended audience, presenters and title/content for each webinar. NYS RtI TAC 2014 RtI WEBINAR SERIES
Strand 5: RtI Implementation in Middle School
Description: Response to Intervention is defined as a school-wide prevention framework that integrates assessment and intervention to improve student outcomes. While much of RtI research and attention has focused on elementary models, RtI implementation at the middle school level is gaining momentum and increased attention. RtI Implementation in Middle School is a five-part webinar series designed to provide RtI middle school teams with information and resources needed to effectively implement a multi-level prevention model in their school. Attention will be devoted to examining various RtI models at the middle school level with respect to scheduling for supplemental intervention, screening, and progress monitoring.
Intended Audience: RtI Implementation in Middle School is intended for middle school personnel who are involved with implementing an RtI model in their respective schools.
