Revised Proposed Amendment of Section 100.5

At the October Board of Regents meeting, a revised proposed amendment to section 100.5 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education relating to the requirements for students with disabilities to graduate with a local high school diploma was approved through emergency adoption.  The State Education Department is accepting public comment on the revised rule, a copy of which is posted at the following website:

Written comments on the revised proposed amendment will be accepted for 30 days after its October 31, 2012 publication in the New York State Register (comments must be received by November 30, 2012) and may be submitted to James P. DeLorenzo, Assistant Commissioner, P-12:  Office of Special Education, New York State Education Department, 89 Washington Avenue, Room 309 EB, Albany, NY 12234, Attention: Revised Amendment: Safety Net for Students with Disabilities.  Comments may also be faxed to 518-473-5387 or emailed to spedpubliccomment@mail.nysed.gov.
