Slide 37: Student Needs Related to Special Factors - Limited English Proficiency

For a student with a disability who is limited English proficient (LEP), the Committee must consider how the student’s language needs relate to the IEP. Schools must provide a LEP student with alternative language services to enable him or her to acquire proficiency in English and to provide him or her with meaningful access to the content of the educational curriculum that is available to all students, including special education and related services.
