Slide 12: Measurable Annual Goals
For each annual goal, the IEP must indicate the evaluation criteria, evaluation procedures and schedules to be used to measure progress toward meeting the annual goal.
Evaluation criteria identify how well and over what period of time the student must perform a behavior in order to consider it met (for example: 85% accuracy over five consecutive trials).
Evaluation procedures identify the method that will be used to measure progress and to determine if the student has met the goal (for example: behavior charting or written tests).
Evaluation schedules state the date or time intervals by which evaluation procedures will be used to measure the student’s progress toward mastery (for example: daily, weekly or monthly).
Detailed information about how to write evaluation criteria, evaluation procedures and schedules is found in the Guide to Quality IEP Program Development and Implementation, which was referenced on slide 4.
