Slide 21: Special Education Program
This slide provides examples of how special education program and/or service recommendations may be documented on the State’s IEP form in its current Word format, as opposed to a computerized format.
In this section, there are drop-down options provided to ensure the recommendations for special education program and/or services are consistent with the State’s special education program and services options. Since State regulations define special education services and/or programs, the lists are finite.
Moving from left to right:
The first example shows the drop-down menu used to identify preschool program and service options (special education itinerant teacher services, special class integrated setting, and special class).
The second example shows the drop-down menu used to identify school-age program and service options (consultant teacher services, integrated co-teaching services, resource room program, special class, travel training, and adapted physical education).
The third example shows a text box for the Committee to provide clarifying information, as appropriate. For example: if integrated co-teaching is referred to by a district as “collaborative team teaching,” then this term could be added next to (but not in place of) the service recommendation of “integrated co-teaching services.”
