Slide 22: EXAMPLE - Purpose of the meeting
This screen shot demonstrates what might appear in a meeting notice sent to a parent.
A single purpose for a meeting might be to “To review, and if appropriate, revise Robert’s IEP.”
However, for some meetings, there may be multiple purposes for the meeting. For example: if a preschool child were referred to a CPSE and the initial individual evaluation had been conducted, the purpose of the meeting could be to:
review the results of the initial evaluation;
determine the preschooler’s eligibility for special education services; and
if appropriate, to develop an initial IEP.
