New York State's Annual State Application Under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) for Federal Fiscal Year 2017 has been posted for public review for 60 days (starting March 10, 2017).  The application includes the identification of New York State (NYS) requirements that are not otherwise required by federal law and regulations pursuant to IDEA section 608(a)(2) and the description of the use of funds under Part B of IDEA. The dollar amounts listed in the Excel Interactive Spreadsheet are based on 2016 Federal Fiscal Year allocations.  The final budget submitted with New York State's application will be adjusted to reflect the 2017 federal IDEA allocations when these amounts become available. 

Written public comment on the NYS 2017 Part B Application will be accepted by the Office of Special Education for 30 calendar days, as required by federal law (until April 17, 2017).  Written comments will be accepted by email with the subject line NYS Part B Application Public Comment to SPEDPUBLICCOMMENT@nysed.gov or may be submitted by mail to:
