New York State's Annual State Application Under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) for Federal Fiscal Year 2016 has been reposted for public review for 60 days (through May 2, 2016).  The 2016 federal IDEA allocations have been made available and the Excel Interactive Spreadsheet in Section III “Description of the Use of Funds” has been updated to reflect these amounts. In addition, Assurance #14 of the Application has been revised to reflect changes related to highly qualified special education teacher provisions that have occurred as a result of the passage of the Every Student Succeeds Act.

Written public comment on the IDEA Part B Application will be accepted by the Office of Special Education for 30 calendar days, as required by federal law (until April 8, 2016).  Written comments will be accepted by email with the subject line NYS Part B Application Public Comment to SPEDPUBLICCOMMENT@nysed.gov or may be submitted by mail to:
