NYSSB Student Council Makes headlines ...

Members of the NYSSB Student Council were recently interviewed by The Daily News reporter, Joann Beck, regarding their funding efforts for United Way. NYSSB raised the second largest amount of money for local schools as a way of helping the United Way.

Student council members have their picture in the news.


Student Council is open to students 14 years and older who can attend meetings independently and participate willingly. Staff advisors assist students in developing goals they want to accomplish, including having regular meetings, selecting Student Council Leaders and voting on issues and ideas.

Senior Awards presented to all graduating seniors

Special Projects:

Cornell Living Sculpture Project - spring 2007

"Spirit the Dog" Fundraiser - over $1000 dollars were raised through a bake sale to donate to Genesee County Volunteers for Animals to help pay for Spirit's eye surgery.

United Way Fundraiser (2010) - Competed against 3 other area school Student Council organizations. 2nd highest total, raised $668.78 to donate to UW.

ALS Association Bake Sale (2010) - raised over $300
