Seeking Applications –State Approved 4410 Preschool Providers Program Expansion Opportunity in NYC

NYSED is seeking program modification applications from State approved 4410 preschool providers, or agencies that meet the initial application criteria to become State approved 4410 preschool providers, to address the specific regional need identified for students within New York City.

As of January 28, 2016, the following regional need has been identified:

ALL complete applications for Special Classes in Integrated Settings (SCIS) throughout New York City will be considered, with priority in these areas:

BROOKLYN (Kings County)

  • Districts 18, 19, 20, 21, 22
  • Districts 14, 20, 21 or 22 with bilingual services (including Yiddish)                         
 

BRONX (Bronx County)

  • All Bronx Districts
  • All Bronx Districts with bilingual services (including Spanish)

 

QUEENS (Queens County)

  • Districts 25, 26
  • Districts 24, 25, 30 with bilingual services (including Spanish and Mandarin)

 

MANHATTAN (New York County)

  • Districts 01, 02, 04
  • District 04 with bilingual services (including Spanish)

 

STATEN ISLAND (Richmond County)

  • District 31
  • District 31 with bilingual services (including Spanish)

 

A limited number of additional Special Classes (SC) are needed as follows, and priority will be given for those able to serve these Special Class populations in integrated settings:

 

BROOKLYN (Kings County)

  • One full-day Special Class with a 8:1+2 ratio and one full-day Special Class with a 12:1+2 ratio in District 20;
  • Two full-day Special Classes with a 12:1+2 ratio in District 21;
  • One full-day Special Class with a 12:1+2 ratio in District 22.
 

BRONX (Bronx County)

  • One full-day Special Class with a 8:1+2 ratio and one full-day Special Class with a 12:1+2 ratio in District 10;
  • One full-day Special Class with a 12:1+2 ratio in District 10 and bilingual services (including Spanish);
  • One full-day Special Class with a 6:1+2 ratio in District 10;
  • One full-day Special Class with a 12:1+2 ratio in District 12.

 

QUEENS (Queens County)

  • One full-day Special Class with a 12:1+2 ratio in District 25 and bilingual services (including Mandarin);    
  • Two full-day Special Classes with a 12:1+2 ratio in District 27;
  • One full-day Special Class with a 12:1+2 ratio in District 28 and bilingual services (including Bengali);
  • One full-day Special Class with a 12:1+2 ratio in District 29 and bilingual services (including Spanish).

 

MANHATTAN (New York County)

  • One full-day Special Class with a 6:1+2 ratio in District 02;
  • Two full-day Special Classes with a 6:1+2 ratio in District 03;
  • One full-day Special Class with a 12:1+2 ratio in District 06.

 

STATEN ISLAND (Richmond County)

  • Two full-day Special Classes with a 8:1+2 ratio and one full-day Special Class with a 12:1+2 ratio in District 31;
  • One full-day Special Class with a 12:1+2 ratio in District 31 and bilingual services (including Spanish).

Applications will be considered as they are received and determined to be complete.  Preference will be given to agencies currently approved to operate in NYC.  All programs requesting consideration must be able to provide all services indicated on the students’ IEPs.  This posting will be updated as classes are awarded to qualified applicants.  The application form can be found at: http://www.p12.nysed.gov/specialed/applications/preschool-home.html
