A Message from the Regional Coordinators, Special Education Quality Assurance
We welcome your interest in the Office of Special Education website and hope that you will find the answers to questions you may have regarding special education evaluation and placement issues. In addition to the information on this website, please be aware that Special Education Quality Assurance (SEQA) has regional offices throughout New York State. Regional Associates in these offices work with local districts, parents, and other stakeholders to assist them in both understanding the complex issues related to special education services and resolving concerns that may arise. Regional Office staff also conduct Quality Assurance reviews within a broad range of school districts and nonpublic preschool and school-age programs. These reviews involve teams of individuals from the programs, including parents, and are designed to evaluate program compliance as well as the quality of services being provided to students with disabilities.
