During Reading - Narrative & Expository How?

Basic text codes:

-Use a plus + sign to indicate something the reader already knows.

-Mark new information with an exclamation point (!).

-Mark questions with a question mark (?).

To avoid defacing books, place these symbols on small Post-it notes or place a transparency over the text and use a dry erase marker.
