ARRA EETT Competitive Grant Program (05/01/2010-09/30/2011)

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) provides funds for the Education Technology Program (herein referred to as ARRA EETT Funds or Program) to support the efforts to improve student academic performance and promote transformational change in our school system through effective use of technology.
The ARRA EETT Program Guidance from the United States Department of Education directs the state and local education agencies (LEAs) to follow the NCLB/EETT Legislation and primarily focus efforts and resources on quickly turning around those schools in significant need of academic performance improvement and adequately preparing students for knowledge-based global economy and digital citizenship through effective use of technology for the 21st century teaching and learning. Effective integration of technology with curriculum development and high quality professional development to promote research-based instructional methods is encouraged.
Applicants may apply to use funds for one of the following four priorities:

  • Priority 1: Creating a technology rich student-centered active learning environments (SCALE).
  • Priority 2: Online formative assessment data management that is compatible with the P-20 data system.
  • Priority 3: Online learning and instruction connected with the development of SED’s Virtual School Initiative.
  • Priority 4: Using technology to better support limited English proficiency/English language learners (LEP/ELLs) and students with disabilities.
