Local Assistance Plan

Commissioner’s Regulation Section 100.2 (m)(6, 7) (scroll down to m. 6-7)

Local school districts with any school buildings that have not met the current reporting year’s Performance Index (for the 2009-10 school year, the reporting year is based on 2007-08 performance data) on any Elementary or High School ELA or mathematics assessment are required, under Section 100.2 (m)(6, 7) of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, to develop a Local Assistance Plan.

The Local Assistance Plan must specify, for the 2009-2010 school year, the actions the district will take to improve student achievement in the identified buildings and raise student performance above the 2008-09 benchmark.

The district’s school board must approve the written plan by October 15, 2009. A copy of the completed LAP must be kept on file in the district office and made available to those requesting to view it.
