Religious & Independent (Nonpublic) School Graduation and Assessment Reporting
Per the memo, beginning with the 2015-16 school year, religious & independent (nonpublic) schools that award Regents diplomas and local diplomas conforming to Commissioner's Regulations on local diplomas, Career Development & Occupational Studies Commencement Credentials, and/or Skills & Achievement Commencement Credentials are required to report in the Student Information Repository System (SIRS). Religious & independent (nonpublic) schools administering state assessments (Grades 3-8 ELA and math, grades 5 & 8 science, NYSESLAT, NYSAA, and NYSITELL) are also required to report them in the SIRS. Religious and independent (nonpublic) schools must contract with a Regional Information Center (RIC) to report these data, and to be eligible to claim reimbursement through Mandated Services Aid (MSA-CAP).
