Increases to CAP Payments for the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 School Years
Approval of MSA claims for 2014-15 School Year Temporarily Delayed
Thanks to the legislation passed in June 2015 which authorized NYSED to make additional payments to prior years, payment increases will be made to all schools that received CAP reimbursement for the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 school years.
As was the case for the similar payments which were made in September, the MSA online system will be used to calculate the payment adjustment one year at a time. This process is scheduled to begin Tuesday February 23 and Wednesday February 24. Schools will receive a notice upon invoicing that there has been an adjustment made to their CAP payments for those school years. Schools should expect to receive the additional payment within two weeks of receiving the notice.
Due to computer system limitations, the approval of MSA claims for the 2014-15 school year must be temporarily delayed while we make the payments for prior years. However, review of claims will continue. It is important that schools promptly respond to any requests for information to complete the reviews so that resolved claims can be approved and paid soon after the CAP adjusted payments have been processed.
