The purpose of this communication is to let you know the due dates for the rest of special education data required to be reported through the Student Information Repository System (SIRS) for the 2007-08 school year. Please note that this message provides an update to the information included in 2007-08 SIRS Policy Manual (version 3.4 – updated on May 28, 2008). To assist with planning for special education data submission through SIRS for the next school year, the 2008-09 school year due dates are also provided. The table also provides the date when data will be considered “final” and lists the Verification Reports that will be provided to school districts. Please Note: The Special Education Snapshot will take place on BEDS date, beginning in the 2008-09 and in subsequent school years (the BEDS date is the first Wednesday in October, which is on October 1 in the 2008-09 school year). For your information and use, we have updated the presentation on how special education data will be collected in the 2007-08 school year with the same due dates as provided below in slides 36, 37 and 51. We will provide you more information on all special education data collection requirements for the 2008-09 school year soon.
