Revised Proposed Amendment of Sections 100.5, 100.6, AND 200.5 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education to Establish a New York State Career Development and Occupational Studies Commencement Credential for Students with Disabilities
The New York State Education Department (NYSED) is seeking public comment on a revised proposed amendment to establish a New York State Career Development and Occupational Studies Commencement Credential for students with disabilities. The revised proposed amendment and summary of revisions made to the proposed rule since publication in the State Register on December 26, 2012 may be accessed at:

In order to ensure that a graduation credential is available to students with disabilities effective July 1, 2013 when the regulation providing for an individualized education program (IEP) diploma sunsets, the proposed rule was adopted through emergency action of the Board of Regents, effective April 23, 2013. However, the proposed rule cannot be adopted on a permanent basis until after publication of a Notice of Revised Rule Making in the State Register and expiration of a 30-day public comment period.
Written comments (71 KB) on the revised proposed amendment will be accepted for 30 days after its May 8, 2013 publication in the New York State Register (comments must be received by June 7, 2013) and may be submitted to: James P.
