Federal IDEA Application

Application for Federal IDEA Funding for the Education of Students with Disabilities, 2010-2011

The application and assurances for the federal IDEA section 611 and section 619 sub-grant programs, including The Americans Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) IDEA funds, is available below with a due date of July 1, 2010. It is suggested that school district staff applying for these funds avail themselves of the optional checklist on pages 2-4 of the application form.  This checklist has been designed to help prevent unnecessary delays in the programmatic approval of the FS-10 proposed budgets for regular IDEA and ARRA IDEA sub-grants.

Please note that there is now a certification which pertains to the maintenance of local effort (MOE) on p. 14-15 of the application form which must be completed if the school district was unable to maintain its MOE for two consecutive school years or its projected MOE for the 2010-2011 school year may be less than the MOE for the 2009-2010 school year.

You may also access the memorandum regarding the procedures for applying for these two separate federal IDEA funding streams by clicking on the Application Instructions link on the web page before submitting the application and assurances.

It is recommended that each application be downloaded in Word format to your computer, filled out and then printed in this format prior to submission to the New York State Education Department.  If you require either application in an alternate format, please contact the Central Office Administrative Support Services Team at (518) 473-6108.
