Perkins Application and Guidance for Secondary Programs

We are waiting for the U.S. Education Department to send notice of our state's Perkins allocation. Since the application for the 2018-19 grant year will be almost the same as last year’s application, returning applicants can start on major effort development in advance of the application release. Until final allocations are available, assume flat funding levels in your budgeting.

In the absence of Congressional action to reauthorize Perkins IV, section 422(a) of the General Education Provisions Act automatically authorizes an appropriation on a year-to-year basis. In extensions years, funding beyond one year is not certain. Programs are advised to develop efforts that can be completed in a single year, or funded through other means beyond the first year.
