School Facility Report Card
(Note: Commissioner’s Regulation 155.6 repealed effective 06/21/11)

Letter to Superintendents - April 2004

April 2004

TO: District Superintendents
Superintendents of Schools
FROM: Carl T. Thurnau, P.E.
SUBJECT: School Facility Report Card

As we continue to implement the 1998 RESCUE Regulations (Rebuilding Schools to Uphold Education) we have developed a format for the School Facility Report Card. This regulatory requirement is based on Commissioner’s Regulation 155.6.

Please visit our web site at www.p12.nysed.gov/facplan and click on the appropriate button on our home page to find the SED format for this document. It is self-explanatory; however, any questions may be referred to your Project Manager.

In our opinion, this document contains the minimum necessary information for compliance. We have attempted to refer where possible to other appropriate documents such as the Building Condition Survey, or the Five Year Facilities Plan in order to prevent the duplication of data. This document can be completed electronically and printed for each facility in your district.

Please develop your School Facility Report Cards. The report card for each facility is required to be discussed and presented to the public at a Board of Education meeting annually. Properly used in conjunction with the Building Condition Survey, the Five Year Facilities plan, and the Comprehensive Maintenance Plan, this information will demonstrate that the district is prioritizing its facilities needs to improve the learning environment and protect the health and safety of the students and staff of the district.
